Our mission is to make official Texas child care records easier for families to find, understand, and verify before contacting a provider.

What this directory does

We organize 9,602 active Texas Licensed Center records across 751 cities into readable profiles, local pages, factual filters, and practical guides. Every center profile links back to the exact official Texas HHSC record and compliance history.

How we organize the records

  • We show the source date and link each profile to the official Texas HHSC operation and compliance pages.
  • Filters use fields explicitly reported by the source. They do not imply current openings or a quality score.
  • Inspection information retains activity dates and correction context so a single count is not mistaken for a safety rating.
  • Head Start matches use conservative public-record evidence. Funded slots are not live availability.

What it cannot decide

A public record cannot tell you whether a center has an opening, what your family will pay, whether a schedule changed yesterday, or how a classroom feels in person. Licensing does not guarantee quality. Use this site to prepare a shortlist and better questions, not as an endorsement or final decision.

Who is responsible for this directory

Texas Early Care Finder is an independent informational directory. It is not Texas HHSC, a child care provider, or an enrollment service. We maintain the listings and guides, review their public sources, and investigate corrections when a reliable source is supplied. We do not collect parent reviews or rank centers.
